Taylor Swift Talks About Her Fight With Kim Kardashian

Taylor Swift opened up in a Vogue interview about the hate spewed at her on social media after her fight with Kim Kardashian. If you don't remember, Kim Kardashian referred to Taylor Swift as a snake on Twitter, which turned into a whole online-bullying scenario with hashtags calling to “cancel” Taylor Swift to trend for weeks. Taylor Swift shared, “A mass public shaming, with millions of people saying you are quote-unquote canceled, is a very isolating experience. I don’t think there are that many people who can actually understand what it’s like to have millions of people hate you very loudly. When you say someone is canceled, it’s not a TV show. It’s a human being. You’re sending mass amounts of messaging to this person to either shut up, disappear, or it could also be perceived as, kill yourself.” Taylor Swift said the incident not only made her feel isolated, but it made her refocus and recenter herself. It also led her to make changes in her life.

Lady Gaga Slams Claim She Stole 'Shallow' From Unknown Songwriter

Lady Gaga is the latest singer to be threatened with a multi million-dollar lawsuit by a songwriter who claims that the melody of her Oscar-winning song “Shallow” from her hit movie “A Star Is Born” was stolen from a song he released back in 2012. The songwriter, Steve Ronsen, is claiming that a three-note progression in “Shallow” is based on his song “Almost.” The song has less than 300 streams on SoundCloud. The three notes correspond to the hook of “Shallow.” Steve Ronsen and his attorney are asking for “millions and millions” of dollars in a settlement in addition to going public with the claim. Lady Gaga and her team are denying it and calling the entire thing a “brazen shakedown.” Lady Gaga's lawyer said, “Mr. Ronsen and his lawyer are trying to make easy money off the back of a successful artist. It is shameful and wrong. I applaud Lady Gaga for having the courage and integrity to stand up on behalf of successful artists who find themselves on the receiving end of such claims. Should Mr. Shirian proceed with this case, Lady Gaga will fight it vigorously and will prevail.” The song, "Shallow,” has been streamed around 200 million times in the United States and passed the $1 million mark in sales earlier this year. It also became the longest-running #1 song in the United States by a female lead.
