Watchmen & Schitt's Creek Dominate At The Emmy Awards

The Emmys went virtual last night and it's safe to say that there were two big winners... S Creek and Watchmen! S Creek won NINE Emmys for their sixth and final season of the show, including Best Comedy Series. That's a new record for most wins in a single season for a comedy series. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel had set the previous record of eight in 2018 and 2019. The cast swept the acting categories and Daniel Levy also set a record for most wins for an individual in a single season, with four Emmys. Watchmen took home more Emmys than any other show of 2020, with HBO scoring the most wins of any network or streaming service. Watchmen picked up 11 Emmys in total, including wins for best limited series and best actress in a limited series for Regina King.

The Rock Destroyed His Faulty Security Gate With His Bare Hands

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got on Instagram on Friday to share photos of his front gate, which he destroyed when it wouldn't open because of a power outage after strong storms. He had places to go and people to see, so Dwayne Johnson said he "made some calls to see how fast I can get the gate tech on site, but I didn’t have 45 min to wait... By this time, I know I have hundreds of production crew members waiting for me to come to work so we can start our day. So I did what I had to do. I pushed, pulled and ripped the gate completely off myself. Tore it out of the brick wall, severed the steel hydraulics and threw it on the grass." Dwayne Johnson said his security team later met the technicians, who were "apparently in disbelief and equally scared" by the destruction. He said, ""Not my finest hour, but a man’s gotta go to work."

Not my finest hour ----‍♂️, but a man’s gotta go to work. We experienced a power outage due to severe storms, causing my front gate not to open. I tried to override the hydraulic system to open the gates, which usually works when power goes out - but this time it wouldn’t. Made some calls to see how fast I can get the gate tech on site, but I didn’t have 45min to wait. By this time, I know I have hundreds of production crew members waiting for me to come to work so we can start our day. So I did what I had to do. I pushed, pulled and ripped the gate completely off myself. Tore it out of the brick wall, severed the steel hydraulics and threw it on the grass. My security team was able to meet the gate technician and welders about an hour later — and they were apparently, “in disbelief and equally scared” -- Not my finest hour, but I had to go to work. And I think I’m -- ready to be #blackadam ------ #ripgates

Kanye West Extends Possible Olive Branch To Taylor Swift?

Is Kanye West extending an olive branch to Taylor Swift? On Friday afternoon, he reached out to his longtime nemesis via Twitter, tweeting, “I’M GOING TO PERSONALLY SEE TO IT THAT TAYLOR SWIFT GETS HER MASTERS BACK... SCOOTER IS A CLOSE FAMILY FRIEND.” He didn't elaborate, but later on Kanye West shared his new vision for what record deals should look like in the music industry. Kanye West says in his ideal world, artists should automatically own the copyright to the songs and recordings they produce for a label, and they'd lease them to companies for a maximum period of time of just one year. He also said that he wants an 80/20 split in the artist's favor and that contracts should be easier to understand, so that artists wont need a team of reps.
