MTV sets a new Unplugged special in Miley Cyrus' backyard
Miley Cyrus will headline a new episode of MTV Unplugged from the backyard of her house in Los Angeles. She will perform an original cover of Gimme More by Britney Spears, as well as covers of songs by Pearl Jam, The Cardigans, etc. Miley Cyrus will also perform stripped-down versions of her own songs. The episode will air Friday, October 16th. MTV revived the Unplugged series this year as an at-home performance series for the network’s social channels.
Glow won't get a fourth season due to the pandemic
So sad! Glow has been canceled by Netflix because of COVID-related circumstances. Las September, the streaming service decided to give the series a fourth and final season. They have now reversed that decision. Filming of one episode of the final batch of episodes had been completed in February before everything was shut down due to the pandemic. The show’s inclusion of actual wrestling scenes that require heavy breathing and physical exertion put filming the show at a “very high level of risk” to shoot. Since the fourth season wouldn't have debuted until 2022 at the earliest, add a COVID-related delay on top of it and Netflix didn't believe there would be enough of a draw for the show two and a half years after Season 3.
The Batman release moved to 2022
Speaking of delays, the pandemic continues to hurt the film industry. Warner Bros. has once again been forced to push The Batman all the way back to 2022. The movie starring Robert Pattinson will now hit theaters on March 4th, 2022. Warner Bros. has also moved The Flash to November 4th, 2022 and Shazam! 2 to June 2nd, 2023. Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam now currently doesn't have a release date. For some good news, The Matrix 4 will now premiere on December 22nd, 2021, which is four months earlier than previously announced.
