Gal Gadot & Patty Jenkins to re-team for Cleopatra biopic

Gal Gadot announced over the weekend that she's re-teaming with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins for a movie about the Egyptian queen, Cleopatra. Gal Gadot tweeted, "I love embarking on new journeys... I love the excitement of new projects, the thrill of bringing new stories to life. Cleopatra is a story I wanted to tell for a very long time. Can't be more grateful about this A team!!" The last time Cleopatra got her own movie was back in 1963 with Elizabeth Taylor. I'm still over here waiting for Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman, which is set for theatrical release this winter.

Disney announces a feature film based on Space Mountain

Speaking of movies, Disney is developing a live-action movie based on their theme park ride, Space Mountain. The studio has tapped Joby Harold, whose credits include King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword and John Wick 3 to write the script and produce it. He's also currently writing and executive producing the upcoming Obi-wan Kenobi series for Disney+. In case you don't know, Space Mountain is an indoor roller coaster set in outer space. It was unveiled at Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort in 1975. Disney is still trying to recreate the success it had adapting Pirates Of The Caribbean from a ride into a movie. This is another example of an attempt to do just that. Jungle Cruise and The Haunted Mansion are also on the way.
