Disney Paid $75 Million For The Rights To Release Hamilton Movie
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical Hamilton is officially coming to movie theaters with the original Broadway cast! He announced on Twitter that Disney will be releasing the movie on October 15th, 2021, six years after it first started it's historic run at Times Square’s Richard Rodgers Theatre. Well it turns out that Disney paid $75 million for the rights to release Hamilton, making it one of the largest acquisition deals in movie history! The cast didn't even have to get back together to perform the show. The director behind the Hamilton movie captured the cast in their prime by filming a pair of performances back in 2016 before Lin-Manuel Miranda and other original cast members left the show. Who cares about the year and a half long wait. I can wait! This is going to be awesome!
