Coronavirus Cancellations Have Hit The Music Industry
Miley Cyrus, Madonna, and Pearl Jam are the latest to call off concerts because of the impact of the coronavirus. Miley Cyrus just cancelled a trip to Australia, where she was planning on headlining a bushfire benefit concert. Two of Madonna's shows in Paris have been cancelled after French authorities banned large gatherings, and Pearl Jam has postponed their US and Canada tour, saying the risk "is simply too high for our comfort level." Other musicians are going as far as holding off announcing the first leg of their tours, such as Neil Young. KISS has reportedly told fans who paid for Meet and Greets on their current tour that Meet and Greets will no longer be happening. Also, let's not forget that the Coachella festival has been pushed back to October as well.
Billie Eilish Addresses Body Shaming During Concert
Someone who has decided to continue touring though is Billie Eilish, and she kicked off her world tour on Monday night in Miami with a video interlude that addressed her experiences with body shaming. In the voiceover for the video, Billie Eilish says, “The body I was born with, is it not what you wanted? If what I wear is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I am a slut... If I wear more, if I wear less, who decides what that makes me? What that means? Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?” As she is speaking, Billie Eilish is removing articles of clothing in the video. If you didn't know, Billie Eilish has previously talked about her decision to wear baggy clothing onstage and in public appearances in order to avoid being objectified.
Amanda Bynes' Fiance Claims They Got Hacked
This is getting crazier by the minute. Amanda Bynes’ fiancé Paul Michael spoke to reporters yesterday and said they’re still together and engaged, despite what we may be seeing or hearing. He's also saying that someone “hacked” their Instagram accounts and removed their photos. When he was asked why a hacker would delete only photos of the couple and nothing else, Paul Michael said, “Assumably to make it seem like we broke up.” He is standing by the fact that they have been together for six months and are still very much together. Paul Michael also said that Amanda Bynes was ordered to go to a residential treatment, not a hospital. She goes to outpatient group therapy and trauma therapy during the day.
