Chadwick Boseman, who played black icons like Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Black Panther in the Marvel cinematic universe, died Friday after a 4-year battle with colon cancer at 43. Chadwick Boseman kept his diagnosis and battle with colon cancer a secret, even as it progressed into stage four and he was filming. He was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016. His wife and family were by his side when he passed. His family said in statement that Chadwick Boseman was “a true fighter... Chadwick Boseman even visited terminally ill children here in Memphis at St. Jude's Children Research Hospital during his own cancer battle back in 2018. Celebrities have been honoring and remembering Chadwick Boseman on social media all weekend and Black Panther has climbed to the top of Amazon and the Apple charts in wake of his death.
