Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Partners On Memphis House For Abused Girls

Aerosmith's song from 1989, "Janie's Got a Gun," tells the story of a girl abused by her family. Now, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is committing to help girls like the fictional Janie, and he's doing it right here in Memphis! Steven Tyler's philanthropic project, Janie's Fund, gave about $500,000 to renovate a home for abused and neglected girls in the Memphis area! The house, which operates which is funded through Youth Villages, houses about 14 girls at a time on a campus in Bartlett. Most of the girls are between the ages of 13 and 18. This will become the second Janie's House within Youth Villages. There's another house that was renovated in Atlana that reopened in 2017! The renovations on the house here in Memphis are almost done and Youth Villages will host a scarf cutting, in true Steven Tyler fashion, on February 4th.
