Former Monsta X Star Wonho Announces His Return With Song and Video Arriving This Week

Almost a year after leaving the K-pop group

August 10, 2020

Justin Timberlake, Zayn, Wonho, what do they all have in common? They all parted ways with their extra-popular boy bands, venturing off on their own. Justin did it first, then Zayn, and now it’s time for Wonho to show the world what he has to offer sans Monsta X, with his debut solo mini album, Love Synonym #1: Right for Me.

For those who don’t know, Wonho left the K-Pop group Monsta X last year in October, stepping away after controversy and eventually signing a solo deal with Highline Entertainment, a branch of the band’s label Starship Entertainment, in April. The decision to part ways, while difficult, was amicable for all involved -- “After a long discussion with Monsta X's member Wonho, we have agreed that it's best to part ways amicably at this point,” Starship Entertainment explained in the statement.

With having waited 3 months to offer up any new music, Wonho was more than excited to share the album news to his almost 417,000 followers on Twitter.

After a few teasers this week, the first single off the mini album, “Losing You” is scheduled to drop August 14, followed by the album track list on August 20. The full mini album, described as the “1st mini album part 1” will be released on September 4.
