The famed Vegas wedding of Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas got a lot of attention as is, but as more and more details come out, fans are even more fascinated by the whole ordeal. Apparently, the Jonas parents found out about the marriage through Diplo’s livestream.
Immediately following a Jonas Brothers performance at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, Jonas and Turner hit the Vegas Strip to tie the knot, orchestrated by an Elvis impersonator.
Diplo, who was in the pews for the event, posted videos of the ceremony to Instagram as it was happening. During an appearance on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp this week, Jonas revealed that neither he or Turner were actually too pleased with how it all went down.
Diplo began posting about the wedding while the happy couple stood unaware at the altar.
Turns out, they weren’t the only ones who weren’t pleased. According to the Daily Mail, tonight’s episode of “The Graham Norton Show” will show Norton asking Jonas if his parents know of his current marital status. “They do, the Internet told them! I’m still trying to make it better,” he replies.
Meanwhile, Turner reveals that she did call her mom before going through with it, receiving an ecstatic blessing from her in the process.
All that’s left for the couple in their journey to married life is a hope that Diplo won’t be at this summer’s ceremonies with his Instagram Live on the ready…and that the Jonas parents will get an invite before it’s over.
